Mission Accomplished: Boot Camp 2022 Ends on a High for Microvellum Team

Central Point, Ore—April 25 marked day one of Boot Camp 2022 for Microvellum; an internal training event, featuring discussions surrounding some of the most popular industry topics, including: CNC machinery configurations, reports and labels, library data and more—all for the purpose of better serving its clients, with a focus on streamlining their onboarding process.

More than 40 members of Microvellum’s team traveled far and wide for the event, ranging from the United States and Canada, to the United Kingdom and Australia—just to name a few. Each day, the training took place in three rotating sessions, varying in setting, allowing the perfect classroom size for both collaboration and participation.

The library data session resided in the newly built training center, where Lenny Scianna, Head of Product Data Development and Integrations, reviewed the state of the Foundation Library and its available expansions for closets, office furniture, and face frame cabinetry. Team members had the opportunity to participate in several workshops within this session, designed to help them understand how to navigate typical product library configuration scenarios.

In the CNC machinery configuration session, Brent Morris, Field Services and Technical Support Supervisor, provided an overview of the new streamlined CNC configuration process, reviewed the CNC tool file library, explored the tool file UI and demonstrated how to configure, test and troubleshoot an Integrated Post Processor (IPP) tool file for CNC machinery.

Lastly, in the reports and labels session, Ben Woodruff, Lead Report Developer & Integration Specialist, tested the team's skills of configuring a typical label and report. They also had the chance to learn about variables, calculated columns, conditions, events, global variables, project properties, sub-reports, advanced formulas, costing reports and Microvellum server.

The five-day experience was more than the opportunity to learn and share knowledge--it was deeply rooted in living the companies’ core values: to be authentic, create positive outcomes and deliver rock solid service. After three full days of in-person sessions and an additional day for informative, shared knowledge discussions, the training event ended on a high above the Rogue Valley. The group hiked a local favorite, Upper Table Rock—well known for its breathtaking scenery and unique features. Following the outing, the team returned to base to enjoy good food and games with even better company.

A total of 62 Microvellum team members obtained new, helpful information and gained tools to grow within their roles. They also had the special chance to meet face-to-face and build lasting bonds. Looking forward, Microvellum plans to continue investing in its team members with the help of the new training center and serving its purpose to clients reach their full potential.

Boot Camp 2022, "mission accomplished".
