CENTRAL POINT, ORE—Microvellum collaborated with SCM Group to organize a 5-day event, consisting of a networking session, live demonstrations on CNC machines, and training at SCM's showroom in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
Attendees comprised of Microvellum end-users, manufacturers seeking to integrate Microvellum's platform into their business, SCM Canada technicians, and certified Microvellum experts Tim Scholman and Brent Morris.
Lauro Dominici, Vice President of Sales at SCM Canada, and his team presented industry 4.0 solutions to attendees, showcasing how they can leverage SCM's live CNC machinery demonstrations to maximize manufacturing efficiencies. The event featured presentations split into classroom-style instruction and live machine demonstrations.
On Tuesday, Microvellum's Technical Services Manager, Brent Morris, led the 4-day training session, which focused on using Toolbox, Microvellum's AutoCAD-based platform for design, estimating, engineering, and manufacturing.
“One of the greatest aspects of these events is the opportunity for clients to interact and learn from one another,” commented Tim Scholman, Microvellum Account Manager based in Toronto, Canada.
“Everyone had something to learn, regardless of their experience with the software. There was lots of information exchanged, and invitations for shop tours and idea sharing happening throughout the week.”
The training session covered a range of topics, such as project creation, project materials, drawing commands, specification groups, creating detailed shop drawings, processing projects for production, rendering, creating custom products, formula writing, and using Solid Model Analyzer to create one-off products.
“We are focused on simplifying the process of client onboarding, and we believe that our in-person training sessions, which use outlines from our Microvellum University training and certification series, offer our clients practical projects and scenarios that replicate the steps involved in moving projects from the design phase to production,”
“Our goal is to help students develop muscle memory, ensuring they possess the necessary skills to succeed when they return to work,” concluded Tim.
Microvellum is in the process of scheduling future training sessions and networking events at partner locations across Canada. More information and details about these events will be released soon, so stay tuned for updates.
