OGB ARCHITECTURAL MILLWORK provided all of the millwork and cabinetry for the 50,000 square foot facility. The Southern Ute Cultural Center & Museum in Ignacio, CO is a tribute to the Southern Ute tribe’s culture, history & where they are going in the future. The photo and drawing above are of the curved display case in the museum store.
The “Circle of Life” message is apparent throughout the museum with the most technically challenging aspect of the project found in the centralized welcome gallery. OGB Architectural Millwork provided all of the curved wall paneling, curved solid wood benches, curved handrails, show cases, the reception desk & the curved sales counter found within the structure.
“The Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum was a challenging project due to the nature of the woodworking involved. OGB had to engineer and build a large number of curved pieces with very close tolerances to ensure a seamless integration with the circular building and work performed by other trades. Microvellum woodworking software proved to be a very valuable tool in meeting these challenges by providing detailed and highly accurate shop plans and machine coding.”- Dave McBride of OGB Architectural Millwork.
About OGB Architectural Millwork
“We are experienced in a broad range of woodworking disciplines. We handle large-scale jobs, and consistently bring them in on-time and in budget. We also like to have a backlog of smaller projects, which we approach with a fast track focus to supplement the larger jobs. We schedule our work very carefully and we focus on meeting our deadlines. We will decline work if we cannot commit to being on time. If we commit to your schedule we will meet it!”
