The TechCon event was a spectacular way for a tone of MV users to get together and personally meet each other. this one on one time we got to spend with other users was a great way to discuss and share our thoughts ideas and tips in an environment that allowed us to be free of other things that might be a day to day distraction and it allowed us time to even share technical things directly on our laptops to help explain the subject matter if necessary. The event also allowed us the same one on one with MV staff, which was very beneficial in the same regards. The value in being able to sit down and go over something directly on a computer system side by side and get real hands on training-technical advice in regards to the software was HUGE!! It was also great to see how MV is promoting their User Group and opening its doors to this group wide feedback about the software and the enhancements we as users are very much inclined to be a part of how they work in the real world work setting. Thanks MV Staff, Keep up the good work. We look forward to the next event. – Jason Jepsen
TechCon, for me, was a great opportunity to gain further knowledge of what Microvellum can do for our company. The workshops and staff were very helpful in giving me the insight needed to take our company forward. – James Drury
We really appreciated the direct line that opens to the development team during the TechCon. To hear what they’re working on in the coming year and also to be able to suggest ideas in an open forum really felt like we are able to have direct impact with this software that we depend so heavily upon. – Peter Kearney
How many opportunities do you get to sit down with every developer of a software company and share ideas and feedback. To me that was priceless. Keep up the great work. Thank you! – Josh Neltner
Great people, Great setup, great food – it almost felt more like a vacation than a work event. The one problem I saw was having only curtains separating Areas 2 & 3 from the Main Stage, the conversations/presentations from the Main Stage were challenging the docents and participants in Areas 2 & 3. It was easy to approach all and any member of the Microvellum team. Having access to techs on a 1-on-1 basis. Flexibility and willingness of techs & developers to listen to company specific issues & questions. Previously unresolved items were actively addressed. Sharing knowledge and ideas with other Microvellum users. Great networking opportunities. – Andrew Waren
The TechCon provided excellent access to the guys that have the answers. It also provided valuable insight into where the software is going in the future.Great Conference! Excellent concept! My only regret is not being able to fit in the MicroManager Presentation. I will plan better next time. Keep doing what you’re doing! – Rick Zaik
TechCon is a unique conference of serious users of Microvellum. You have the opportunity to network with similar companies and gain tips/ skills that would be seen in the past as trade secrets. Bring all your questions and you will find that Microvellum does a “full court press” to solve them and even better to take the time helping us to understand the solutions. Developers, Programmers, Techs and minimal sales are present to address any question that we had. If you are serious about being successful you owe it to yourself to participate. For a software company to open all of its resources to a customer and really listen to its customer base is rare and a huge ROI for us. I believe that Microvellum is here for the long run. Several generations are the backbone forged with a strong community of like minded employees sharing a common vision. Our success is their success and this was clear from day one of the conference. – Earl Lepper
Your mission statement of iron sharpens iron rings true from the start of the session to the closing minutes. I brought two engineers out of five with me to cover the spectrum of our questions. The depth of resources Microvellum offered to make this a successful conference was Over the Top. We “unlearned” faulty habits and Learned solutions to our questions. Your staff were not just giving party line comments but took the time to listen to our challenges and brought in specialists to address each challenge and not just a generalist. Returning to the office on Monday we came in brimming with positive energy and solutions we had gained from the conference sharing it with the engineers who stayed behind keeping jobs going. Cross training will now take place so all engineers benefit. Upper management is fully supporting user group participation. Bravo Microvellum. – Earl Lepper
It was great to see what is up and coming with Microvellum. You can get a better understanding of the direction that this software is going. It was great to be able to talk with the Microvellum team directly and get immediate help with some problems that I was having. – Todd Mullins

“I would have to say that one of the biggest advantages to Microvellum it’s AutoCAD-based. Being able to communicate with the architect directly, working from the same program they do to pull the DXF files from their drawings into our system to create renderings and cut parts is such a benefit for us. We’re able to see the project in 3D to verify tolerances and trust that when products are built, they actually go together onsite. When we were ready to manufacture projects, Microvellum creates the machine code for my Holz-her CNC and and drives my production flawlessly.” – Phil Cerbu, Project Manager
“It seems like everyone at Microvellum really listens to their customers and takes our feedback seriously when it comes to the software.” – Peter Kearney
“Many years ago Mission Bell made the decision to partner with Microvellum, a company that we felt had a vision of the future for our industry. We recently upgraded our solution to the latest version and have been very happy we did! We love it! Keep up the good work!” – Bev Stenehjem
“I work with Interior Woodworking Specialists in Redmond, WA. We have used Microvellum for several years now. Microvellum is our main hub, everything we produce goes through Microvellum. Their support is great, the software user interface keeps getting better and better. Progressive.
Microvellum is very powerful and versatile. For years we had one database for estimating and one for production, not to mention our submittal drawings were just drawings. Now with Microvellum being integrated, our estimators use the same database as engineering and our submittal drawings are our engineered products. That is real easy to say, but our practical application has really saved us time – communications within our own company – and our drawings are AutoCAD based so we can work within architects drawings ensuring accuracy, function, and get along with other trades…
With Microvellum you can have your library – catalog tailored, create work orders, schedule projects, order and maintain materials, work with any number of your machines and assembly centers, track it through your plant, quality control aides, finishing reports, packaging, and delivery reports. Employee management, Microvellum is really reaching out to be a universal software. Nothing worse than duplicating work or having your departments having to translate each other’s work from one step to the next. One software one database.
With any software, knowledge is power. Once you understand what all the buttons, switches, and pedals in your automobile do you can go anywhere.” – Justin Mason, Draftman/Engineer at IWS
“Microvellum Software has proved to be a powerful and versatile tool. Specialized cabinets that used to be time consuming can now be processed quickly and easily and I know the machining is right before it goes to the shop floor.” – David Lueck
“We at Creative Cabinets have been using Microvellum Software for well over a year now. We have it communicating with all our computer controlled machinery. We had been using CabNetware for over 20 years and the conversion to Microvellum Software took about eight months.” “We are very happy with the flexibility of the program. We are glad we made the switch.” – Bill Lason
“Microvellum was not the first software we purchased, but after we experienced the competition, we wish it had been. We purchased Microvellum Software several months ago after being frustrated with the limitations of other software packages and with the plan that it would dovetail seamlessly with our HolzHer CNC. Naturally we are still learning all it can do, but we are constantly finding new ways to leverage the software in our day to day operations. Probably the most important thing to us is the company itself. Unlike our first experience with cabinetmaking software, Microvellum Software let’s you know the customer comes first AFTER the sale. Microvellum Software training and support has been excellent every step of the way. We are anxious to move forward with their newest product, MicroManager Software as soon as we can.” – Peter Chan
“As a previous owner of both Pattern Systems and Cabinet Vision, we find the Microvellum software suite surpasses the competition in flexibility and ease of use.”
“In addition, I’ve found that the technical support group is pleasant to work with and works hard to resolve any issues.” – Bruce Pezant Edmond
“After looking at many different software solutions, Microvellum’s Toolbox Software was the only platform fully integrated into the defacto industry standard for CAD (AutoCAD). Due to the highly custom nature of our business, we needed a system that could handle a product with infinite shapes, sizes and materials.” – Darrel J. Shamah
“What I like most about Microvellum’ Software is the versatility. As a custom cabinet shop the power of Microvellum Software is that we can design and build any kind of cabinet we want, and if we choose to we can save it as a new parametric product to use at a later time.
Microvellum Software automatically writes the G-code for all the parts, and the integrated labeling program leaves very little chance for human error. We just use the barcoding to pull up the right program. The real beauty of Microvellum software is you can set it up to run how you want, where other software can’t” – Patrick Driscoll
“We recently switched to Microvellum Software. As a long time PSI user I was a little apprehensive, however any misgivings I had were squashed within days of using the software. Not only has it been everything that was promised, the ease with which we’ve been able to transition over has been nothing short of astonishing. I wholeheartedly recommend that anyone looking for an engineering package in the cabinet and fixture industry give Microvellum Software a chance to prove to you what they have (proved) to me.” – John Berry – Engineering
“The flexibility built into the software enables us to design whatever the customer wants.” – Chris Abubo
“Even though I’ve only been using Microvellum Software a short time, it’s everything and more that I wanted in a software.” – Mike Twyford
“HMC, Inc is a custom millwork shop and we had reservations about how Microvellum Software would work for us. After using this program for 10 months I can tell you now that Microvellum Software program works very well for our needs. We feel that we have been saving about 30% on our layout and milling operations, as well as savings in assembly due to the accuracy of the milliing operation. We agree that we would not have been able to keep up with our schedule if not for this program. Thanks for a great product!” – Bob Zeman
“Had been using Cabinet Vision and would never go back. Integration to our Biesse Rover B was a snap with Microvellum Software.” -Todd Downs
“Microvellum Software has changed the way we build cabinets.” We are now able to use joinery we were never able to use before.” – Philip Nickolich
“We made the decision to buy a CNC router and Microvellum Software when times were really slow. People thought we were out of our minds at the time, but I knew that we had to do something. As a small commercial shop, the people who contract with us know they could count on us to deliver on time. What this meant to us was we often had to turn away work because we could not deliver on that promise. We were stuck with no way to grow. Now business is booming. We don’t have to turn work away and we still have the capacity to put even more work through our shop and keep our promises. The funny thing is we haven’t even had time to go to the Microvellum Software training yet. I can’t imagine how productive we will be after that.” – Traci Medina
“A key part of our business. Couldn’t and wouldn’t want to try without it!” – Sean Stewart
“Best Investment we ever made for the business. Regret how much money we wasted by not buying the software sooner.” “We recovered the software cost with the savings in the first couple of jobs.” – Chris Britton
After researching different cabinetmaking software, I purchased Microvellum Software. It has really changed the way we do business and has expanded our market tremendously. The technical support to get us going and keep us learning has been excellent. I would recommend Microvellum Software anytime. -Ronnie Locklear
Many thanks to Microvellum and Biesse, as well for providing the best software and machinery our industry has to offer.- Ben Patterson
As you know we evaluated just about every software package on the market and quickly realized that Microvellum was the only product that offered us the flexibility and depth that we needed for our business. We have been using Toolbox for about two months and were actually producing jobs within about two weeks following the installation. We have recently started to implement MicroManager Software and are finding that we have cut our estimating time by about 75% per project after about 1 week of working with this software. We look forward to our continued partnership with Microvellum as we continue to grow and implement the remaining software components.
Our primary reasons for choosing Microvellum Software were:
1. Toobox being AutoCAD based. This aspect makes it easy for us to find designers/engineers that aren’t intimidated by the software.
2. Depth and capability of the Microvellum software products.
3. The access too and response of the support team.
4. Ease of use and the short learning curve to get up and running quickly.
By the way, the support and training are top notch and are second to none! Thanks again for your patience as we evaluated so many products and this is the best software purchase we have ever made in our business. – Jeff Hamptom
After working on the “old” software for about a month in July of 2006, I had experienced the fear of telling the boss that the “old” software we were using, was junk. Much to my surprise, and relief, upper management was aware of it too. We set out that day to find something better. With the help of Craig Snee, we focused on Microvellum. That was the best move we ever made-this program puts every other in the rear view mirror. The training I received from Larry Boyle in Kansas City was the best one week I ever spent, his willingness to help and show the product was unmatchable.
We stayed busy through a bad economy, and much of it can be attributed to Microvellum. We started with the drafting first, then machine code, product processing, saw optimization, and then packing list generation. Key impacted areas first were: less mistakes on the shop floor, quicker resolution to re-make damaged parts, and better process flow through the shop. We plan on integrating MicroManager soon, and will have the tools in place to make better scheduling and forecasting predictions. I have worked at several high volume shops over the past 20 years, and Microvellum is by far the greatest advancement to the woodworking industry. Thank you Microvellum, and keep up the good work. Our area representative Mark Jardon spent countless hours helping us along the way, and we couldn’t of got as much done as fast as we did without his help. Congrats to the AAA+ technical support team in Oregon-they are the wheels that keep this cart rolling… – Blane Knutson
“Classic Millwork Design Co. is a high-end commercial casework and architectural millwork company. In 2004 we purchased a HolzHer Echo Master, Giben Beam Saw, and (Cabinet) Vision Design and Manufacturing Software, after assurances from all parties that the equipment and software would communicate and perform as demonstrated. The problems were numerous. Vision couldn’t design my products without me having to trick it. Vision wouldn’t optimize to the G-57 post on my beam saw, and I had to redesign everything in AutoCAD and send a DXF file to my Echo Master. I tried to get all three companies to play in the same sand box, but for two years there was nothing but finger pointing and lack of support.
I late 2005 I started checking into Microvellum Software. Right away I realized I could do my design work in AutoCAD and Microvellum, make detailed drawing without having to trick the system and could send G-code straight to my Echo Master. It was flexible and allowed me to quickly build my special projects, and after discussion with Microvellum we (also) opted to use Ardis optimizer to link to the G-57 post. I was very busy and it took me 3 months before I got back to installing the products.
Now here is the good part. Two weeks before Easter 2006 we started working with Microvellum Software and Ardis support. I set up my parameters in Microvellum, established links to my HolzHer Echo Master and Ardis, with Ardis giving me the perfect link to my G-57 post for my Giben Beam Saw.
My first project after the installation was a new kitchen for my wife. Carole wanted Cherry raised panel cabinets with built in cabinets for the appliances. We tore out the old Monday after Palm Sunday and designed, built and installed the cabinets in time for preparing and enjoying the Easter meal with my entire extended family.
After two years of struggling we now have a manufacturing system that really works. I would recommend Microvellum Software and Ardis combination to anyone who deals in the high-end commercial and architectural millwork industry.” – Lewis Richard
