Toolbox 7

What is AutoCAD?
AutoCAD is a CAD software application for 2D and 3D design and drafting. It is developed and sold by Autodesk, Inc. First released in December 1982, AutoCAD was one of the first CAD programs to run on personal computers, notably the IBM PC. At that time, most other CAD programs ran on mainframe computers or mini-computers which were connected to a graphics computer terminal for each user.Today, Autodesk is one of the world’s largest software developers and AutoCAD has evolved into the most commonly used, industry standard tool for engineering, drafting and prototyping.

Latest Technology
Powered by the AutoCAD 2012 OEM engine, Toolbox 7 combines the latest tech from Autodesk and Microvellum. *Also compatible with full version AutoCAD 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Benefits of AutoCAD

  • One word: Standardization. Simply put, AutoCAD is the industry standard for Computer Aided Design, so other CAD packages emulate AutoCAD operations and try to ensure file compatibility across industrial boundaries.
  • Another major benefit of AutoCAD, especially in large-scale operations such as bridge or building design, is virtualization. This is the ability to walk through and view the project in a 3D simulation before ever putting a dime into manufacturing. Autodesk is a leader in this technology.
  • Your drawing files are native DWG files and can be easily shared with designers, engineers, architects, and builders.

Design Elements
Accessorize your designs by adding room components from the built-in catalog such as small appliances, lighting fixtures, tables, chairs, plants, cookware and other household items. With the flexibility of AutoCAD, you literally have access to thousands of items available online that can make any projects come to life.

“Microvellum has proved to be a powerful and versatile tool. Specialized cabinets that used to be time consuming can now be processed quickly and easily and I know the machining is right before it goes to the shop floor.” - Architectural Arts (USA)

Intelligent Product Engineering
Microvellum Toolbox 7 empowers users to engineer intelligent products that can easily be manipulated to take on an unlimited number of configuration possibilities. Simple changes via check boxes and menu selections within the user definable cabinet properties interface can cause instant changes that affect hardware options, material selections or even cabinet construction.
Customizable Product Libraries
Whether you build face frame, frameless, closets, office furniture, store fixtures, storage systems or simple casework, Microvellum Toolbox 7 can be configured to meet your standards within in minutes.Transfer your construction and machining methods into simple, parametric functionality controlled by user defined variables. Changes can be made globally or locally at the project level, allowing you to switch up your construction methods for door styles, face frame options, reveals, hardware and other cabinet construction options on the fly.
Quick Construction Customization
Product libraries come equipped with a large variety of customization variables allowing you to use the built-in logic to configure your product construction to meet your needs. Control options for…

  • Cabinet Backs
  • Cabinet Sides & Finished Ends
  • Cabinet Bottoms – Shelving
  • Toe Kicks & Base Assemblies
  • Full Tops & Stretchers
  • Wall Cleats
  • Doors & Drawer Fronts
  • and more…

Are your construction methods unique to your company? No problem. Microvellum’s open architecture allows you to add your own logic that complements the default variables, allowing you to create a custom application for your shop.

Curved Product Control
Tired of laying out die-wall projects with cardboard on the shop floor? Microvellum ads the flexibility to design and engineer curved products utilizing the advanced technology of AutoCAD. From parametric die-walls and fixtures to radius face frame cabinets and partitions, Microvellum enhances and expands your ability to quickly produce complicated products.
Product Detailing
Take advantage of the power of AutoCAD to produce detailed product views for prototyping and product assembly drawings that illustrate machining and hardware.

“…Microvellum automatically writes the G-code for all the parts, and the integrated labeling program leaves very little chance for human error. We just use the bar-coding to pull up the right program. The real beauty of Microvellum is you can set it up to run how you want, where other software can’t.” - Robert Marcos, Inc. (USA)

Single Part Editing & Creation
The Single Part Editor is the perfect complement for machining of individual parts. Offering the essential tools for 2D machining, users can quickly add machining to parts using tooling data from CNC’s in the shop, machining macros and imported geometry. Optimize single parts on their own or include them in other projects as loose parts to have them nested together.
Machining Optimization
Automatically controls the tool paths for all machining on your parts based on several parameters built into the software for part size, closest point of entry, diameter of holes, and type of tooling to reduce the number of tool changes. For additional control, users have the ability to override tool optimization using their own instructions or make unique tooling combinations for custom machining.
Processing Center
Using Microvellum’s processing technology we can simultaneously send g-code to every CNC in your shop right from the office, allowing the machine operators to simply browse to the jobs at the controller and start running the code.To take it one step further, automatically route parts and g-code to certain machining centers based on part names, machining on individual parts or any other user defined instructions.
3D Part Manipulation
Easily customize individual parts or products on the fly using the Single Part Editor to add machining for access panels, odd-shaped cutouts, remove machining and more. The added machining is then stored in the part data, and the 3D model is updated.
Perfect Grain Matching
Do you need grain matching? No problem. Control the horizontal and vertical grain direction for your parts, products or entire projects automatically.
Part Labeling
Take complete control over individual part labeling at right at your CNC; print single labels on-demand or labels for all parts at once. Labels include all the information needed to identify your parts such as project information, pictures and barcodes.
Rectangular Nesting
The Rectangular Nesting Optimizer is typically used by manufacturers that mainly nest square or rectangular parts and is an ideal, low-cost nesting solution that can utilize all the advanced features within Microvellum’s nesting technology such as Common Line Cutting, Tabbing and Onion Skinning.

Additional Features Include:

  • Common Line Cutting
  • Automatic Onion Skinning for Small Parts
  • Nest Tabbing
True Shape Nesting
Users that create odd shaped parts or ones that are looking to maximize their material utilization can take advantage of Microvellum’s True Shape Nesting algorithm. This advanced nesting optimizer will interlock parts to form group of parts and then choose the location within the sheet to best fit the pattern. This technology not only saves users material, it also reduces overall machine cycle times.
