Pro Processing Reports
Once we have added our products to a job we can process the job to obtain reports, G-code, and optimization results for the products. Selecting the "Process Reports" option from the "File" drop-down menu will display the processing options. From this screen you can choose to "Include Machining" and "Include Parts Labor and Material Costs". If these options are left unchecked, the processing time will decrease but that information will be excluded from the processed data. Print Reports Screen Once the processing is finished, the "Print Reports" screen will be displayed. The "Print Reports" screen will allow you to set the release path of the processed data and select your processing options. The "Print Reports" screen will also display a list of reports, on the right side of the screen, which will be available to view after you have selected the "Make Reports" button. The current job that is being processed is also displayed on the "Print Reports" screen. Current Release Path The "Current Release Path" option must be set before you can process any data. The release path allows you to specify a folder in which all the processed data will be set to. By default, once you select the browse button, the path is set to a folder called "Manufacturing Data" in the current job in which you are working. This path may be changed to any folder, or you can create a new folder by selecting the "New Folder" button. Since you can change where the processed data is going to be sent and make new folders for the processed data, this allows you to process the same job multiple times but never lose any of the previous data. This becomes very useful when using the Release Manager to process different cabinets in your job at different times. Processing Options The "Options" section in the "Print Reports" screen allows you to decide what information you what to process. By default, the "Make Part Labels" and "Make Product Labels" options are also available, but different options appear depending on the settings in your Microvellum Options. For instance, if you set the Panel Optimizer setting on the "Optimization Tab" to “ARDIS”, you will get the option in the "Print Reports" screen to "Optimize with ARDIS". If your Panel Optimizer setting is set to "None", you will not get the option to optimize the job. If your Microvellum Options are set correctly to your company specifications, the correct options will also be displayed on the "Print Reports" screen. G-Code Results Screen One of the options in the "Print Reports" screen is "Make G-code Files" (this option will change depending on your "Out-put Preference" option on the Machining Tab). If you choose to make G-code files, a "G-code Results Screen" will be displayed after selecting the "Make Reports" button. The "Results" screen is divided into three sections. The left section will display a picture of the part, once a part is selected. If you double-click on the picture, a bigger picture of the part will be displayed. The picture shows the machine origin represented by a small circle in the corner of the panel. This lets the machine operator know if the part needs to be run in a mirrored or non-mirrored (normal) field. The edgebanding is also shown in the picture by either a small "x" or a heavy line on any edge that needs edgebanding. The top-right section will display a list of all the products that G-code was created for. If a folder is yellow, then the product will not contain any machining errors; but if a folder is red, than one or more parts in the product contains machining errors. To view the parts of the product, select the "+" (plus) before the product. The list of parts will now be displayed under the product folder. Any part that has a yellow box in front of the part name does not contain any machining errors, but a red box indicates that that part contains some machining errors. To see the error, select the part and look in the bottom-right section of the "Results" screen. This section will display the error message for the part. By selecting a part and then selecting the "Display G-code File" button, a screen will be displayed that contains the machining instructions in a text format. You can modify the G-code files from this screen. If a part does not contain any machining information, it will not be displayed on the "Results" screen. Making a Record of the Release Once you close the "Results" screen you will be prompted to choose if you would like to make a record of this release. If you choose to make a record of the release, then the products that were processed will be hidden from view in the Overdrive Product List. They can be displayed again by selecting the "Hide Products Already Released to Production" from the Product List Context menu. |
