Pro Parts File
Individual parts can be saved to a parts file to be used repeatedly in different products. Inside each of the library category folders there is a parts.prt file that is used to store parts. To save a part from an existing product to the parts file, you must use the "Save Part to Parts File" command that is available from the "Edit" drop-down menu or the Parts List Context Menu. Highlight the part that you wish to save to a parts file, and select the "Save Part to Parts List" command. A box will be displayed with all the different library categories. This is to help organize the parts you save back to a parts file. It is a good habit to save parts from your base cabinets to your base cabinet category, and parts from your tall cabinets to your tall cabinet category and so on. Double-click the library category you want to save your part to. To load a part into a product from a parts file, select an empty row in the product and use the "Add Part from Parts File" command. A box will be displayed with the different library categories. Double-click the library category your part is saved in. This will show the list of parts currently saved in that library category. The part that was last saved to the category is always at the bottom of the list. |
