Pro Number / Dimension
By making the prompts flexible enough to accommodate virtually any custom design, Microvellum allows you to add prompts that specify quantity, dimensions, or just a Boolean value (a value that specifies “Yes” or “No”). The drawback of this flexibility is that when reports are being developed, complex formulas are required to differentiate between these different data. To make custom report creation easier, the Number / Dimension column was created and populated into the database. As an example, let’s say you have a prompt that specifies a quantity (a “Number”) of one. If you were to “Process” the job and select the “Convert Imperial to Metric” at that time, the program will convert the measurements to metric; thus displaying the reports in metric. Reports that are reporting from prompt quantity fields use the conversion factor of 25.4 to modify not only the dimensions, but also the quantities which now become 25.4 instead of 1. By including this “Number / Dimension” information in the database, you can selectively exclude certain prompts from conversion into metric. Type “N” if it is a Number value; leave blank if it is a Dimension value. |
