A defined name is a name that is associated with a value. If
you look at the "Prompts" tab in the
Product List, you will see a column labeled "Defined Name" and the
column to the right of that labeled "Value". These two
columns are associated with the command "Define Name". The
"Define Name" command is only accessible from the
"Prompts" tab. If you would like to create a new defined name,
enter a name in the "Defined Name" column and enter in the defined
name value in the "Value" column. After a value has been
entered, right-click and select "Define Name". When the
new prompt has been recognized as a defined name and added to the product, a
confirmation message will be displayed.
