Overdrive Pro Optimization Tab

Previous | Next

The “Optimization” tab controls the way parts files are written for sawing optimization.  There are three paths to set.  The first path points to the application path of the optimizer program.  If you are using Ardis for optimization, this path is typically c:\Ardis.  The parts file path tells the program where to put the parts file.  The “Path to CPOUT” does the same thing for the CPOUT files.  There is no need to be concerned with the CPOUT path unless you are using the “Microvellum Optimizer” or “Pattern Systems Cut Planner” to handle the optimization.

You also setup which Panel Optimizer you use, as well as, which Nesting Optimizer you are using.

Ardis Optimizer

The ARDIS parts file that Microvellum produces contains information needed to print labels using ARDIS.  If you want to use ARDIS for label printing, please contact Microvellum to receive documentation.  You will also need to contact ARDIS to receive a DEF file capable of accessing this label information.

Microvellum Optimizer

The Microvellum sawing optimizer supports perfect grain matching.

The “Microvellum Optimizer” creates a log file each time it is used.  If a problem is encountered with the optimizer, Microvellum can easily troubleshoot the problem when receiving the log file.  The log file will be stored below the “Documents and Settings” folder under <your profile>\Local Settings\Temp.  Customers using the “Microvellum Optimizer” may want to create a shortcut to this location so that log files can be periodically purged from the hard drive.

Edgebanding for Part Labels Option

The "Edgebanding for Part Labels" option will change the way edgebanding is represented on the product label.
