Pro Material Pointer Groups
Material Pointer Groups were designed so you could change many material pointers at the same time. If you wanted to change your material for all the base pointers, you could use the groups function to group all of them together. Then you’d only have to change the material once for all the pointers instead of having to drag the same material to every pointer you want to change. To display the groups, right-click on the material pointer section and from the "Groups" fly-out menu select the "Show Groups" option. This will display all the groups under each material pointer category. The groups will be displayed as material pointers, but have "Group:" before each name. Each of the three material pointer categories has their own groups. To add new groups or edit the existing ones, select the material pointer category you want to edit, then right-click on the material pointer category. Select the "Edit Groups" option from the "Groups" fly-out menu. This will display the edit screen for the material pointer groups. The window on the left displays all the material pointer groups that have been setup in this material file. To see what material pointers have been assigned to each group, expand the folder for the group name. The window on the right displays the material pointers that have not been placed into a group. To group the non-grouped material pointers, select a material pointer and drag it on top of the group folder. This will move the material pointer from the non-grouped list into the selected group. To move a pointer from a group into the non-grouped list, select the pointer in the group and then select the "Remove Selected Pointer" button. This will move the material pointer from the group into the non-grouped list. You can also move material pointers from one group into a different group. From the Material Group Edit screen, you can create a new group by selecting the "Add Group" button and then entering in a new group name. You can now add material pointers to your new group. If you want to delete a group, select the group you want to remove and select the "Remove Selected Group" button. |
