Installation
Microvellum Toolbox, Overdrive Pro, and ALIS can be installed from a Microvellum installation disc. The installation wizard will ask for the "Destination Folder" of where you would like the program installed. The default is set to "C:\Program Files\Microvellum"; however, you can choose to install it elsewhere.
You will then be asked which programs you want to install, the unit of measurement you prefer, and the version of AutoCAD you will be using (if you are installing Microvellum Toolbox). It is important to select only one unit of measurement AND only one version of AutoCAD.
Once the installation is complete, you will be asked to enter an
authorization number to allow either temporary or permanent access to the
program. To receive a temporary authorization number, please log in to
the Microvellum Toolbox and AutoCAD Configuration If a valid authorization number is entered, the installation program will attempt to automatically configure AutoCAD with Microvellum Toolbox. Once this process is complete, an additional menu named "MVToolbox" will be added to your current list of menu items in AutoCAD, and Microvellum Toolbox will be docked inside AutoCAD. (Note: If you are installing Toolbox for use with AutoCAD 2004 or newer, the toolbar will not be automatically docked. You can dock it yourself by double clicking the blue header bar.) On some systems the installation program will not be able to find AutoCAD, or it may find an incorrect version of AutoCAD. If this happens, start AutoCAD and run a program called “Configure AutoCAD.exe.” The “Configure AutoCAD.exe” file will be installed in the Microvellum root folder. By using Windows Explorer, you can browse to the Microvellum root folder, which is where the files for the program are installed. Double-click the “Configure AutoCAD.exe” file to start the program. The program will configure the AutoCAD environment and dock the Toolbox. When you open a drawing inside Microvellum Toolbox, you will get a reminder message for initializing AutoLISP commands. It is necessary to select "Read acad.lsp only in the first drawing." Select the "Don't show this again" checkbox before proceeding.
