Excel Workbooks
A collection of spreadsheet worksheets can be assembled into a workbook. The workbook itself is the file and may contain one or more worksheets. You can rename and move sheets by right-clicking the worksheet tab.
Formulas in one worksheet can reference cells in other worksheets. This is done by creating a name in one worksheet and using the created name in a formula in another sheet. It is possible to reference other workbooks as well. They are called “External References”, and the cell address contains the file name followed by an exclamation point. If the file is in a different folder, the entire path of the file will be included in the formula. There is a great deal more that you could learn about spreadsheets, but you have already learned enough to begin using Microvellum Toolbox or Overdrive Pro to design products. Microvellum software does not use Excel, but much of the functionality that you have learned is available in the Microvellum software. There are a few differences that we will point out later. All files made with Microvellum are compatible with Excel 97 or above. |
